The short version
Recam stores the information needed to run the early-access list and, when the product launches, to operate your account and recording library. We do not sell your data, and we do not use recordings for advertising or model training.
Early-access list
When you join the list, we store your email address, confirmation status, consent time, and operational timestamps. Confirmation and unsubscribe tokens are stored as keyed hashes, not as usable links. We also keep a short-lived keyed hash of your network address to prevent form abuse; we do not store the raw address for that purpose.
We use this information only to confirm your subscription, manage the waitlist, and send Recam launch updates. You can unsubscribe from every message. We retain the record while you remain subscribed or as reasonably needed to honor an unsubscribe request.
Recordings
The Recam extension uploads your recording to cloud storage while you capture it. Recordings are private by default. Each recording has an unguessable share link; anyone who has that link can watch, so treat the link like the recording itself. We keep recordings until you delete them.
Your account
We store the account details you provide, such as your name and email address, plus operational records needed for storage usage and upload sessions. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information needed to create or access your account.
Analytics
We may collect limited product analytics, such as sign-ups and feature usage, to understand and improve Recam. We do not use the contents of your recordings for analytics, advertising, or training.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts this launch page and early-access database. Amazon Web Services delivers confirmation and launch emails. When the recorder is available, cloud storage and authentication providers process only the information needed for their function.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from launch emails using the link in any message.
- Delete recordings or your account from Recam when those features are available.
- Ask for access or deletion by emailing privacy@recam.io.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date here. Questions can be sent to privacy@recam.io.
